Automotive marketing · Beach Ford + Barton Ford
Five decades.
One message.
One family, two dealerships, and a trust-first brand that has stayed relevant through every shift in the market.

The challenge
Stay visible when every dollar had to work harder.
The Barton family bought Beach Ford in 1978. Within a year, the oil embargo hit, the auto industry slid into recession, and the dealership faced its first real crisis.
The advertising budget was cut, leaving one urgent question for Primm: how could Beach Ford stay visible on a severely reduced budget?
What we did
We chose trust over the price war.
Hampton Roads' bigger dealers were fighting each other on price. Beach Ford could not outspend them, so Primm did not try. The budget went into one medium, television, and one message the competition was not showcasing: trust.
Straight talk. Fair dealing. An American-made vehicle sold by people who would still be there next year. No sales-event noise, no gimmicks, and no race to the bottom.
The results
A focused message outperformed a much bigger spend.
Beach Ford became Virginia's largest-selling single dealership of any make while spending a fraction of what competitors spent on advertising. The trust message became the most durable thing the dealership could own.
The relationship
The media changed. The promise did not.
Four generations of the Barton family have run Beach Ford, and Primm has been alongside every one. Markets reinvented themselves and media mixes changed, but the job stayed constant: protect the brand, keep the message honest, and match the advertising to the dealership.
Today, Primm handles broadcast, social, digital, email, and short-form video for Beach Ford. The newest work reestablishes “All-American. World Class.” as Ford marks its place as America's most iconic company during the country's 250th anniversary.
Broadcast that carries the brand
One voice, built to last across generations.
An iconic American brand
A modern expression of Beach Ford's long-standing All-American, World Class position.
An American legacy
Commercial service storytelling that connects capability with the people who keep Hampton Roads moving.
Three decades in Suffolk
The same trust-first message carried into Barton Ford's own multigenerational story.
One family, two dealerships
Built on the same promise from day one.
When Barton Ford opened in Suffolk, Primm was there from the start. Thirty years later, it is the leading Ford dealership in Suffolk, built on the same trust-first message that carried Beach Ford through 1979. The relationship grew with the family without losing the idea that made it work.
Beyond the screen
Every customer touchpoint speaks the same language.
Point-of-sale materials, direct offers, and commercial-service collateral extend the brand into the dealership and into the hands of the customers it serves.
